The hashtag #SaveTwitter goes viral, subsequently Twitter denounces the rumors of its demise in 2017

This Thursday, the famous online social networking service, Twitter Inc. denounced all the rumors about its shutting down. A reporter for Twitter said in a reply to a Reuters request, “There is absolutely no truth to the claims whatsoever.”

Twitter Inc. says that the hashtag #SaveTwitter reports of service’s death have been greatly exaggerated. On Thursday, the social service got crowded with the #SaveTwitter hashtag and over a hundred thousand tweets cited the hashtag. Although, the origin of these rumors is not known but according to some tweets, a user on the social service complained about the bullying made over the internet and the company did not address these issues the right way.

For not addressing complaints regarding abusive behavior on the social messaging service, Twitter Inc. has been criticized by many users. Although, the company has made efforts to create a balanced system for the users where decent and average behaviors can easily be entertained and hateful speech and content based on violence can be blocked accordingly. Hence, several user accounts were permanently blocked by the company last month for causing harassment annoyance to other members. The blocked accounts included that of Mr. Milo Yiannopoulos, a Greek-British journalist and the tech editor at Breitbart News Network.

Moreover, at mid-afternoon the shares of Twitter Inc. increased by 3.6% to $19.73.
