The younger generation has realized the importance of health and have taken to living active, wellness-focused lifestyles. Developing healthy habits can go a long way in helping you stick to a routine with your new lifestyle at Amberwood at Holland. Here are some tips to develop and maintain consistency as you settle into condo living.
Start Small
When getting into something, don’t aim for something too big because it could be daunting and make you lose motivation too soon. Set small, achievable goals such as walking for a few minutes or 5 pushups daily. This allows you to stay motivated and gradually set new goals that you will be working on getting as you start becoming healthy. Set clear goals for yourself such as going to bed early and waking up early, eating proper meals at proper times, and taking good care of yourself.
Stay Consistent
Make it a point that you will stick with your routine. Set at least 30 minutes a day for your workout or any physical exercise like walking or jogging and sooner or later it will become second nature. You could also try integrating the routine into your daily life, like during your break or after a game, you drink water and try a couple of pushups before going again.
Keep Track of Progress
Make it a habit to track your progress, such as the amount of steps you take and other activities you do. Have something to work for like reaching a new personal record time on weights or pace. There are many apps that you could download for free and wearable devices to track calories, exercises, and kilometers walked and ran.
As you develop these fitness habits, expect some setbacks, but do not let that deter you. When you encounter a setback, come back stronger so you can overcome the hurdle. Also do not compare your day 1 progress to someone’s day 200 progress. Comparison is the thief of joy. Everyone’s progress starts and goes differently, go at it at your own pace and enjoy the process.
