HTC’s flagship phone is now getting the Android 7.0 Nougat. Hmm, blah! It’s not really the latest Android version but with Android phones, that’s always been the thing. You have to compromise. The latest Android version is Android Nougat 7.1 which was released alongside the Google Pixel and the Pixel XL. It’s yet to be seen on other Android devices except some like the LG V20. HTC had promised that they would release latest Android updates over the air in the just 90 years after the release. It’s yet to be seen if that will pan out to be true. It’s confusing - is HTC 10, the flagship or is it the HTC 10 evo? Well, I guess it’s the HTC 10 evo, it’s updated and new but it hasn’t reached all the markets yet, so, I would say HTC 10 is still to be considered as the flagship phone from the company. There have been talks going on over forums about the release of Nougat for HTC 10, it’s been going on for a while.  Few days back, a top developer of HTC ROMs tweeted that the update was indeed close. He was right, today, the company announced that the US users who own unlocked HTC 10 phones will start receiving the update starting today. If you own a carrier based HTC 10 phone, then you’ll have to wait a little longer. It might take some weeks or months, can’t say anything for sure, as the carriers have to modify the update according to their requirements and then push to the consumers. The company also said that the update will continue through early next year. Android manufacturers always have something under their sleeve, that means not all the HTC 10 phones will receive update right away. The update will be pushed in parts.
